Interior minister: Security forces to clamp down on criminal hotbeds

Minister of the Interior Mohamed Ibrahim said after he is sworn in Monday that his ministry in the current period will focus on the elimination of criminal hotbeds, and the removal of all forms of infringement of the law.
 
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has asked to intensify efforts to address all forms of crime and to apply the law to all citizens without any exceptions, said Ibrahim.
 
Ibrahim added the the security forces already raided a number pf criminal hotbeds nationwide, noting that he led crackdowns himself in the region called the "triangle of horror" in Qaliubiya, and other areas in Port Said, and Damietta.
 
Ibrahim pointed out that the traffic problems would have priority as the victims of traffic accidents have reached high levels in 2013.
 
Traffic departments nationwide have already begun expanded campaigns to deal with all types of traffic violations like not wearing the seat belts, and using mobile phones while driving, Ibrahim said.
