Irrigation Minister: Egypt concerned about Renaissance Dam storage capacity

Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi said at a news conference on Friday evening in Khartoum that what worries Egypt is the storage capacity of the Renaissance Dam, which had been increased by Ethiopia from 14 billion to 74 billion cubic meters.
He added that Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia had negotiated the assignment of an international consulting firm to determine the economic, social and environmental impacts of the dam on Egypt and Sudan.
He said the results of the negotiations, which were concluded on Friday evening in Khartoum, do not dispel Egypt’s fears in this regard.
