MP for Monufiya, Amira Ibrahim, 35, died in a car accident on Saturday morning on her way to attend the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Egyptian parliament in Sharm el-Sheikh.
The MP's private car overturned on the international road in South Sinai, 50 kilometers from Mount Sinai.
Ibrahim's six-year old son was injured in the accident, suffering bleeding in the brain, while her 12-year old daughter suffered various cuts and bruises.
The children were transferred to Mount Sinai General Hospital.
The prosecution is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
