Newly-appointed Prime Minister Hazem al-Beblawy met on Monday morning with US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns and US Ambassador Anne Patterson at the Cabinet headquarters to consult on some internal and external issues.
The meeting comes before Beblawy finishes consultations, which started on Sunday, to form a government, during which he met with 14 candidates to take over ministerial portfolios in his government.
Beblawy had also met on Monday with Ahmed Darwish, a candidate for the Administrative Development Ministry, a position which he had held in the government of former Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif during ex-President Hosni Mubarak’s era.
