Three killed, 33 injured in Hurghada as bus collides with truck

Hurghada prosecutors have formed a committee of traffic experts and officers to inspect the scene of an accident involving a bus and a truck that killed three and injured 33 others on Friday morning.
 
The committee will prepare a report on the cause of the accident and on the technical status of the bus prior to the crash.
 
Hassan Darwish, director of the Red Sea Ambulance Organization, said on Friday that the bus, which belonged to a tourism and transport company, collided with a truck at the northern entrance to Hurghada.
 
He said the injured were transferred to Hurghada General Hospital by 15 ambulances. The hospital was put on high alert to deal with mass casualties due to the accident, Darwish added.
 
The hospital's director Ahmed Ibrahim said that specialist doctors in all relevant discipines were attending to the patients, adding that Health Ministry undersecretary Alaa Awad also attended to the hospital to supervise their treatment.
