
US President Donald Trump said during his meeting with the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi that efforts are being made to deal with a number of important regional issues – including the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, RT reported on Wednesday.
On the sidelines of the G7 summit in the French city of Evian, Trump said that he is aware of the challenges and problems the dam has caused for Egypt.
He assured that work will continue to find solutions towards addressing the crisis, explaining that the discussions also address issues related to the Nile River and the effects of the dam on Egypt.
President Sisi affirmed his appreciation for Trump’s efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East, including recently reaching an agreement with Iran.
During his meeting with Trump on the sidelines of the G7 summit, Sisi explained that he values America’s support for Egypt.
The two leaders discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between Egypt and the US.
